Gloria is constructed around a semi-fictional narrative - a single ball of yarn that is constantly made and remade into different garments. The story is told using both appropriated and original elements; short story, poetry and song lyrics, digital animation, pop song, photography and drawing alongside found images from period knitting and crochet patterns.
Presented in printed and digital formats, each rendition exploits its medium's distinctive characteristics to
encourage interaction. Tactile qualities of different paper stock add tangible sensation to the graphic version: sound and moving image to the digital rendering.
Gloria investigates the way in which the same story can be interpreted, recounted and presented through different media.
